Entrances - Multiples 2
~Making & Burying Multiple Entrances (DragonsIOAŠ)~

The most important
concept to learn about building entrances with this trainer is the
final ownership of the land (i.e. owned vs not owned). In order for
the entrances to work properly:
1) The land under the entrance pathway and the land
under the entrance booths (one each to the right and left of the
entrance square) are on land that is NOT OWNED.
2) The
squares beyond the entrance and all of the park where you plan to
build must be OWNED.
The newest DragonsIOA
trainer makes it very
easy to make this happen since you are now able to change the
ownership of all types of land based on the type of "dirt"
used.
This is
a step-by-step walk through to build and bury multiple entrances in
a blank mega park (workbench).
|
Mark the location of the new entrances using a unique land
type (I used snow). Put 3 giraffes facing the edge of the map where
each new entrance will be
located.
|
Open the Dragon trainer and change the ownership of the
unique land (snow) to "not own" and the remaining land (grass) to
"own" [F12, "land tools", select land type of
"snow", select "not own", then "change
ownership", then select land type "grass", select
"own", then "change ownership"]. Return to RCT. A
fence will show around the snow squares, and the fence to the old
entrance is gone.
|
Remove the old entrance and build the new entrances
[F12, "land tools", select the type of path (I
used stone), then "move entrance"]. Return to RCT. The old
entrance disappears and the new entrances are formed.
|
Remove the path leading to the old entrance. This will keep
the peeps out.
|
Invert the land and bury the new entrances [F12,
"land tools", "invert map", then in the lower right
corner select "use this height", then increase the setting to
at least 6 more than the base height, then "flatten
land"]. I raised the land from 10 to a height of
16.
If you use a height less than 6 more than the base land,
there will be ghosts of the buried entrance that may show through in
some views.
|
Adjust the land height of the unowned land between the
entrance booths and the edge of the map, then add the paths to the
edge of the map. Invert the land back to normal [F12,
"land tools", "invert map"]. Return to RCT.
If you want to have "tunnels" where the peeps enter the
ticket area, the land one square in front of and behind the entrance
path needs to also be buried. If not, the peeps will appear to go
through a flat wall as they enter and exit.
|
Rebuild the map [F12, "land tools", rebuild
map"]. The paths should now connect to the edge of the
map.
|
You can now finish building and coloring your entrance. If
you want to change colors/land type on the unowned land, simply
invert the land, make your changes, then re-invert the
land.
Be sure to save the game, preferably under a new name, and
test the entrances to be sure they function normally.
|
View of entrance with vertical faces removed. Entrances under
the land appear normal.
|
Partially Buried Entrances
|
Use the same method as
above, but do NOT mark the center square between the ticket booth.
The center giraffe will be placed over grass instead.
|
When you bury the
entrance, the path between them will remain open, and the arch will
form.
Once the entrance is finished, be sure to change the
ownership of the land under the arch to "not own" so peeps will be
able to enter.

General
Tips:
I always save a backup copy of the game
before I start working with changing the entrances. Then, if
something goes wrong you don't lose your park.
I usually save a copy of the game containing the
new entrances under a new name and then do a test opening
of the park to make sure that the entrances are working properly.
I usually put in a few path squares beyond the entrance to be sure
the peeps will enter the park properly. Since you are only
checking the entrance, it's OK to open the park and dump in a load
of peeps with a trainer even if you don't have any rides built.
After you're sure that everything is working OK, you can close the
game without saving.
You can have only 2 functional entrances
(where the peeps actually enter the park), although the DragonsIOA
trainer will allow many decorative entrances to be built.
If you are working in a partially completed park,
be sure that you do not have any paths adjoining the abyss at any
point except where you want peeps to enter. Changing ownership of
land can cause paths to connect to the edge of the map in multiple
unwanted places, so be sure that the edges are free of
paths.
